Mastering money is the topic of the next LifeForward Workshop for Women presented by the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley. The free workshop is scheduled for March 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Savia Community Center, located at 23780 Newhall Avenue in Newhall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The speaker is Patti Handy, a certified life coach and mortgage expert in the California real estate market, with more than 30 years in the banking industry. Her presentation is entitled “Money Rules 101 – Master Your Money Before It Masters You! – What is Your Money Mindset?” Handy says she is passionate about empowering the next generation and those starting over to lead a prosperous and generous life.
The workshop will help participants master their finances by identifying: where you are today and where you want to be; discovering your ‘why’; improving your credit score; credit card do’s and don’ts – the power of compounding interest; saving tips; basic investment options; and what you need to know before buying a home.
Zonta Club of SCV offers these workshop series for women on a monthly basis (except for July and December) and are presented by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The SME speakers cover topics such as: Empower Your Children—Effective Parenting; Anger Management; Develop Good Relationship Behaviors; Issues that Impact Our Youth—Drugs, Alcohol & Self-Harm; Filing Taxes; Career Strategy, Resume Building and Networking; Mastering Money; Health & Well Being—Eat Right & Exercise; plus Motivational Skills and Divorce and Family Law Issues. Each workshop is designed to empower women and improve self-sufficiency skills.
The following are take-away comments from attendees: The “a-ha” moments are unforgettable; Workshops are life-changing and make a difference; Very beneficial—life is a great struggle; Valuable insight & specifics about taxes so helpful; Nutrition & exercise for weight loss were amazing – the exercise sheets were a huge help and visual aids on nutrition were great; and It’s possible to have a common agreement for an amicable divorce.
The non-profit Zonta Club strives to provide workshops that are always informative, interesting and relevant to the world today. Individuals may attend one or all workshops. Recognition Awards will be presented at the May 2018 workshop to those who attend five of eight workshops offered from August 19, 2017 through April 28, 2018.
