I Rant, You Decide
Not to confuse you, but I’m writing this first paragraph the day after I wrote the following rant. My daughter-in-law just texted a photo of our oldest son asleep next to our two-month-old sleeping grandson. It’s a great picture, but all of sudden it hit home as to what’s really important in this life and how fragile it can be. It should be our top priority to make sure this world is a safe and prosperous place, free of fear, for them to live in the years to come. It gets one thinking about what life will be like for him and his two-year-old sister. I’m struck with sort of a sense of dread for them, if we don’t solve the myriad of problems that face us today. What bothers me the most is, a lot of these issues could be lessened or resolved with the right kind of leaders. I hope, as you read my sometimes blabbering rants, you keep in mind where I’m coming from!
Scorched Earth Needed?
As I sit down to write this rant, news just broke regarding the beheading of another kidnapped American reporter. It makes me sick to my stomach to watch what appears to be the same coward who murdered the reporter two weeks ago. I’ve ranted about this for three straight weeks now, but ISIS needs to be stopped dead in their tracks! Someone mentioned that I was a fear monger regarding this group, but come on, how can anyone not see the horrible consequences that will result if they are not stopped?
There are now reports of ISIS training American members (remember, two Americans were killed recently while fighting for them) on how to build suicide bomb vests. It doesn’t take a lot to imagine these lunatics getting on a subway in New York, a train in Chicago, or even walking through LAX and blowing themselves up along with hundreds of others!
And when you hear our President say he doesn’t have a strategy yet, it makes me just cringe. Sir, the strategy is quite simple. Do whatever it freaking takes to wipe these deranged coward idiots off the face of the earth! If it takes a “scorched earth” attack to accomplish this, then so be it! As Lt. Col. Ralph Peters said, “We need to kill them and keep killing them until you kill the last one; then you kill his goat.”
If I had my way, we would declare war on these worthless pieces of crap and be done with them! Oh, you say it will cost too much money? Well, then cut a bunch of spending on the stupidest crap imaginable to have the money to pay for this war, so we can provide the number one thing this country and its leader are supposed to, that is to provide safety and protection for all of its citizens!
Sir, You Wear Me Out!
I’ve got to quit getting in pissing matches with these lefty opinion writers of ours. It’s making me a bitter, angry human! Not really, but I have got to address Chris Ball’s contribution to The Gazette this week (see page 8). I actually agree with him on President Johnson and don’t have enough emotional energy to argue each of his points on the Bush Administration. I will say this: If Bush was in office today this ISIS crisis wouldn’t be going on, and if it was, there wouldn’t be any indecision about how, when or why they should be dealt with. Mr. Ball, war is a horrible, tragic and sad thing, but at times it is very necessary to preserve the safety and freedom of America, no matter the cost. You seem to forget that the majority of Americans on both sides of the aisle agreed with Mr. Bush about starting the war. We won that war and then your guy screwed it all up enabling this ISIS group to flourish—now putting all of us at risk!
And another thing—if this President of ours isn’t the worst ever, then he is tied for worst with whoever is!
Has overseen an economy for six and a half years that has floundered and choked without giving any regard to maybe changing things to help it.
Has fostered an incredible increase in spending on domestic programs without a care in the world of the ramifications.
Food stamps, welfare, unemployment benefits and similar programs have a huge and unprecedented number of Americans relying on the Federal Government for support as we veer towards bankruptcy.
Unemployment has improved, but remains rather high.
The biggest drag on the economy is the lowest labor participation rate in many years, which the President refuses to acknowledge.
Lied to us regarding keeping our doctors, keeping our health plan and having our premiums go down as much as $2,500 per year.
Has refused to have a special investigation—let alone asking his Attorney General—to investigate Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, despite overwhelming evidence that demands special investigations.
Has encouraged a war on the coal industry, despite the fact it is an economic foundation for many communities and an affordable energy source for millions.
-Has refused to authorize the Keystone pipeline, as well as other oil opportunities, even though study after study has shown the huge energy benefits for us, while protecting the environment.
Mr. Obama makes public statements regarding local issues, while refusing to comment on issues such has gun violence among young people in major cities, a two-star general being killed in Afghanistan, or even the decorated Marine held unjustly in a Mexican jail.
He has shown a complete ineptness in being able to sit with leaders from this country and leaders from all over the world to bring anyone together for meaningful compromise.
He released five terrorist prisoners (who could have joined up with ISIS by now) for a soldier who deserted.
By the way, why is it taking so long for the Army to conclude the investigation into this soldier, as to the desertion allegations? You don’t think Obama has anything to do with it, do you?
I don’t think I need to dwell on his handling of foreign policy; it’s well documented, and all you have to do is turn on the news!
In other words, he just sucks at being President!
Chris, you wrote this piece just to get me going and not because you really think he isn’t the worst president ever, right?
