The Week That Was:
As you can probably imagine, this has been an interesting week for me. My warm fuzz ball inner-self has been sandpapered down to a baseball. It’s come to the point where I’ve been humming certain songs; you know, like, “Nobody likes me everybody hates me, I’m going to eat a worm, a long skinny slimy one, a big fat juicy one, I’m going to eat a worm,” (I never have understood the point of that song, but I’ve been singing it anyway) and, “I’m just a soul whose intentions are good, Oh Lord please don’t let me be misunderstood.” Songs to sooth my soul these days.
In the midst of my singing a friend called to commiserate with me and of course he threw in, “You better not paint your walls white or this whole thing will start up again.” That got me to thinking, I better not buy a white car, get my teeth whitened or include the word “white” when I mention red, *@#$% and blue. It kind of reminds me of the song that goes, “Oh yeah, life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone.” In high school my pals and I had a saying that when things got tough, “life sucks and then you die.” Maybe I should take solace in knowing I’m like the president and causing people to enjoy “Doug derangement syndrome!”
Hopefully you realize that was all written in jest; my life is just fine and this dust-up will pass. I do want to say I really appreciate the outpouring of support I’ve received, it means a lot to this battered and bruised Ranter.
The Dems are going nuts trying to maneuver their way into the presidency. First they put all of their eggs in the basket of the Russian collusion thing and now that that blew up in their face they are stretching hard to finagle into other areas they hope will bring Trump down.
They’re riding hard on the racism issue thinking that if enough of that will stick they’ll have him where they want him. Last week when the stock market took a nose dive they (and the media) went bonkers screaming like Chicken Little did with the sky falling that “a recession is coming, a recession is coming!” (Remember, there were only crickets when the market shot upward a bunch of points after he was in office, but now that a small slump has hit it’s all his fault). Of course it didn’t matter that expert after expert quickly squashed the recession notion with “it won’t happen anytime soon.”
What Could Go Wrong?
What if the Dems do succeed in getting their candidate in the White House, what road will he or she take us down? I’m not sure with most of them because I’m having trouble following exactly what their policy thinking is. Most of what I hear is rhetoric meant to sooth what the itching ears of voters want to hear. I miss the days when actual issues were debated head-to-head giving us a clear picture of each side’s views so we could make up our minds based on their thoughts and ideas. Those days are long gone!
I tell you what though, if you want an example of what could happen if any of those Dems occupy the oval office, you need to look no further than what just happened in Finland.
“Finland’s Government Collapses Due to Rising Cost of Universal Health Care.” That was the headline, the sub headline was “Similar problems are bedeviling Sweden and Denmark, two other countries frequently held up as models to follow on health care.”
Need I say much more? The promises of Medicare for all, doing away with private health insurance, free college and forgiveness of student loan debt, among other things, could very well bring our nation to its knees.
Why Ask Why?
What really gets me is the growing number of Republicans who are throwing their support to the Dems in hopes of dethroning a president they just can’t stand personally. Do these conservatives (sort of I guess) really hate Trump more than they love our country, do they really want the incumbent president to get voted out of office resulting in the potential damage a Dem president could cause to engulf us all? How mature of them!
Keep Your Eye On The Ball:
Andrew McCarthy a former U.S. Attorney, has written a book entitled “Ball of Collusion, The Plot to Rig an Election and Destroy a Presidency.”
In the book he maintains, “The real collusion in the 2016 election was not between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. It was between the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration.”
After reading the book Rush Limbaugh stated, “It starts with the premise that Obama politicized the intelligence agencies of this country… McCarthy demonstrates how none of this could have happened was it not for high ranking figures in the Obama administration. This was the politicization of the Department of Justice by a sitting president.”
I’ve heard McCarthy on television basically say that there is no legal way or even a possibility the investigation into Trump’s campaign could have happened without the knowledge and approval from President Obama.
I’ve long been writing about the actions of Obama’s administration being the driving force (illegally) to prevent or derail Trump from becoming president. Many feel this scandal will make Watergate look like a junior high prank. The evidence that has been mounting over the past two years is nothing short of incredible. I just hope when the mud hits the fan about Obama’s involvement the racism card isn’t pulled like it was during his tenure whenever criticism was directed his way.

New York Times Executive Editor Says Focus Has Shifted From Russia-Trump Theory to Trump’s ‘Character’ (Headline)
*They wouldn’t want to focus on the actual job he has done as president now would they? (Me)

No DUI Arrests in Sobriety Checkpoint (Headline)
Good news and I see these checkpoints becoming unnecessary and money that could be used for other law enforcement issues. With the rise of Uber, Lyft and a wonderful local company called Designated Driver, maybe the problem of DUIs is fading. (Me)
Governor Newsom Signs into Law a Bill Setting Police Limits (Headline)
*Talk about appeasing the emotions of the left. This bill calls for law enforcement to use deadly force only when “necessary” instead of when “reasonable.” I’m no expert, but now law enforcement personnel when faced with a split second decision to protect themselves and others around them, have to ponder if it’s necessary as opposed to reasonable? I need help understanding this one. (Me)
“This is not peace, this is not love, this is hate among the radical left. While the Republican Party has voted for renewal, for a place of safety, a community where all can have peace there is an ongoing war among the left. They have hate, it’s like venom, no words of God, no words of love, but a radical emotion of hate. Trump is a man of truth, love, and justice, not just for Americans but for the people of Israel.” (Jon Voight, actor)
*True that, and I have experienced the hate he refers to firsthand this week. (Me)
Letters to the Ranter:
Ranter’s Note: These are just a couple of the correspondence that have come my way. We would have to increase this newspaper’s page count significantly to include them all.
You say you’re “bat crazy.” I would have to agree with you. Just because you or anyone else hasn’t met a white supremacist or nazi doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Have you ever come face to face with a Bengal Tiger? I doubt it (although I wish you would) but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. If you had any intelligence whatsoever, you could just research FBI stats that show white supremacists as the greatest source of terror facing this country. Or you could just turn on your television. Or more directly, you could just look in the mirror because we now have proof that in addition to being a poor writer you are also a white supremacist.
You’re a racist and your support for chump re-enforces that, too. Chump’s comment that there were “fine people on both sides” referring to the neo nazis and supremacists, his comments about Mexicans, his history relative to the Central Park 5 and many others clearly indicate his stance and, since you support him, yours too.
You’re an inconsequential, little man who is relegated to attempting to write for a throwaway paper in Santa Clarita. You are a nothing, Doug. And a nothing you will always be. Go put on your hood and run off to your KKK rally. – Mike
I agree with you and it’s truly unfortunate that the media keeps this race thing going. I have no problem with anyone of any race for being proud of who they are. If you are proud to be black, white, Asian, Mexican etc it makes no difference to me. I am happy for those people who can be proud to be themselves. I fell across this article because someone on Facebook wants to boycott the paper, claiming Doug is a racist, spewing the same crap you covered in your article. And I must say, I completely agree with you Doug. I guess now I’ll be called a racist too hahahahhaha – Jennifer
