I Don’t Wanna Do This One!

If I sound like a three-year-old who doesn’t want to eat their vegetables, it’s because that’s how I feel. I do not recall a time when I’ve been asked so many times if I’m going to rant on a certain issue and it happened to be an issue I was trying to avoid like a case of the shingles. I’m sure you can imagine, or guess, what the issue is…It’s none other than the trials and tribulations of one Miss Katie Hill.

Yeah, I saw the compromising photos and read the embarrassing personal text messages and I was as shocked as anyone. But, I also try like heck to avoid judging people on their personal hang-ups and habits remembering what Jesus said about “Judging others without examining our own personal warts,” and him confronting the folks who were about to stone the woman caught in the act of adultery by asking, “Those who have never sinned throw the first stone.”  Of course no one did and went on their way.

Advertisment

With all that being said, while God forgives our sins and tells us not to judge others’ sins, there is no escaping the consequences of our actions, particularly if one has been put in a position of great responsibility, a position that requires the upmost integrity.

As a side note, I wonder if Hill resigned on her own accord. It’s well known her campaign received millions of dollars from high powered Democratic donors, so many would not be surprised if those same donors through Nancy Pelosi decided she was a liability going into the 2020 election. I guess what it may have boiled down to is — live by your donor’s grace and die by those same donor’s lack of grace.

 Ranting Craw:

I’m a big believer in accountability for our actions, and while Hill’s act of resigning is a positive step in that direction there are aspects of this thing that stick in my ranting craw. Her resignation statement had precious little in the way of a heartfelt apology, and one of her remarks was that the incident “left her terrified for future women who might want to run for office.” I say the only reason a woman, or a man for that matter, should be terrified to run for office is if they have skeletons (so to speak) inside the camera of their scorned spouse! Otherwise, there is no reason whatsoever to be terrified to run for office.

That statement lends itself to show Hill thinks of herself as a victim in all of this. She isn’t a victim. She allowed (looks like encouraged) her husband to take photos of her and the lady friend in those intimate positions. This mess she finds herself in is a result of her own sexual preferences and desires (which is her own business, of course). She allowed those desires to skew her thinking, resulting in the poor judgment to seemingly seduce an impressible young lady on her campaign staff and to flaunt it in front of the lens of a camera. What could go wrong with all of that?!

 Hypocrisy Galore:

The hypocrisy with all of this runs as deep as the murky swamp of Washington D.C. Can you imagine if the same sort of thing would have happened with Steve Knight? Oh my gosh, the local lefties would be marching in front of Knight’s office or home with stones in hand. And there is no way they would let him off the hook with a resignation announcement short on remorse and not sincerely asking for forgiveness while claiming he was the victim after all.

Of course, the reaction by local lefties to this mess has been quite cricket-like. The strongest comment I saw was someone stating they “felt like throwing up” after Hill’s resignation (not sure if the damming photos of Hill caused this person to want to throw up or the agonizing pain of defeat with humiliation).

In summing this up I concur with what I saw from a blogger on the internet:

Despite all of the hypocritical blathering, the fact remains: Katie Hill violated ethics and possibly the law. She did it for the sake of her own sexual pleasure. She is unfit for office and deserves to lose her job. This was all her doing and now she is paying the price.”

 Water Under the Proverbial Bridge:

Time to move ahead and leave the past in the past. While the timing of the next election for the house seat in this district may have changed, it’s just as important as ever to bring the seat back to the right side of the isle. I personally feel Mike Garcia is the man for the job and I encourage all to check him out and lend your support to his campaign.

Whether it’s Katie Hill, Christy Smith, the House lead Dems or the dozen or so Dem candidates for president, they spell trouble for America and I mean BIG trouble. The socialistic way of life they are touting is permeating further and further into the thinking of more and more Americans.

A recent poll of millennials showed 70% of them will vote for a socialist. That generation is being hoodwinked into thinking that free is the be all and end all of a blissful future. In reality it’s a dose of societal cyanide poisoning that will rear its sick head when it’s too late to do anything about it.

No matter if the right takes back the House, Republicans remain in power in the Senate and if president Trump is re-elected we will still be sinking in a deep dark hole of debt that is very dangerous. If that hole is dug deeper and faster with Socialistic rule there will be NO turning back to try and save this nation as we know it. It’s sad and scary that intelligent Americans cannot or do not want to recognize the obvious fact that a nation already in severe debt cannot survive with more mountains of debt from socialistic spending being shoveled into the debt death hole.

Christy Smith:

State Assemblyman Christy Smith must have had the inside scoop on Katie Hill’s resignation as she shot out of the shoot the minute the resignation was announced with a well planned campaign type press release. This isn’t about that, or her effort to put the Gazette out of business, this is about her true colors shown in Sacramento with a voting record that will make any conservative’s hair curl.

She voted for:

$10.5 billion ratepayer surcharge to bail out PG&E

$1 billion individual mandate on health insurance ($695 per person who doesn’t have insurance)

$1.7 billion on new taxes on small business

$2 billion Managed Care Organization Tax

$194 million (first year & then higher) for 9-1-1 service tax

I seem to recall that during her campaign she was pretty adamant about not caving into the Dems (who rule Sacramento) and would cast her votes in the interest of all in her district. It looks as though she didn’t keep that promise and I cringe to think how she would cave to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff all those miles away when they pressure her to vote their left leaning ways.

We cannot let her go there. Go, Mike Garcia, go!

Quips, Quotes & Headlines:

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State dies at 48. (Obituary headline in the Washington Post)

*Like one pundit put it, “What’s with this pile of dog sh*t” headline!” I couldn’t agree more, I guess the Post forgot he was the head of ISIS, a brutal terrorist organization that is responsible for the deaths of thousands of civilians in the Middle East, including the brutal murder of numerous civilian hostages from Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. He loved to see people’s heads cut off and was raping women left and right. (Me)

“When you realize: Pelosi and Schiff were just in Jordan trying to undermine Trump’s Syria cease-fire. Dianne Feinstein repeatedly met with Iranian officials. John Kerry has tried to undermine Trump’s Iran policy for 3 years. …It makes sense why Trump kept Democrats in the dark” (Charlie Kirk)

*Think Dems, just think about it, do you really think he should have confided in you when you guys are trying to undermine and even fire the President? Now you’re whining about not being consulted on the al-Baghdadi thing, really?  (Me)

“I would also be very mindful of the fact that as a nation, we have got to hold police officers accountable for the actions that they commit. I would be very cautious, if you were my son, in terms of dealing with that police officer, but I would also defend my rights and know my rights and make sure, if possible, that police officer’s camera is on, what goes on. Obviously, we need to end all forms of racism in this country from Donald Trump down to the local police department.” (Bernie Sanders)

*How do you politely say someone is full of crap?!  (Me)

Two Mother’s mission: Bringing LGBTQ books to local schools (Headline)

*Last rant I asked for help to understand this type of thinking, so far no one has offered anything up. (Me)

“It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the “Hope and Change” which in reality was nothing but “Hype and Lies” from your college professors. You youngsters need to taste socialism and see evil face to face to understand you don’t like it after all. You make a lot of noise, most are all too interested in their careers or Climbing the Social Ladder to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the Great Lie in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the ‘Kool-Aid.”  (Unknown)

*Don’t know who wrote it, but I sure agree with it. (Me)

How Pot is Changing the Nation (Headline)

*I don’t know how it is these days, but in my day it made us lazy, stupid and hungry. (Me)
