I was in the middle of writing this weekly rambling when I was informed Christy Smith’s campaign sent a press release to the Gazette announcing an endorsement from a certain union. I said, “wait a minute, they have the nerve to send this newspaper a press release intended to help Smith win an election (expecting free publicity) when in the recent past she declared no money would be spent by her in the Gazette and announced a boycott of this newspaper with the intentions of hurting us financially.” What would you do?
A Guy At The Grocery Store:
I was minding my own business while waiting to check-out at the grocery store the other day where a guy about my age and his adult daughter were in line ahead of me engaged in conversation. I wasn’t paying much attention until he told her he was in much better shape to retire than just a few years ago, she asked him “why?” and he told her “my 401K is going through the roof.” She asked him “why is that?” My antennas had already reached their maximum height and I found myself blurting out “because of Trump!”
I inwardly cringed for inserting myself into their conversation and was a little concerned he might be a “Never Trumper.” But, his eyes lit up and he exclaimed “you’re absolutely right and he has got to stay in office for another five years so I can retire in style and we can keep this country on the right track!”
The guy then went into a wonderful diatribe about Trump being exactly what this country needed and how the yahoos are clueless as to what he means for this nation and they don’t like or get him so they hate him because he isn’t one of them. He went on with “he’s like a difficult boss who is kind of a jerk but gets stuff done that really benefits the company”, I almost shouted “amen brother!”
Later I got to thinking isn’t that what the Trump presidency is all about or should be all about. It still mystifies me that so many have hatred for the man and think he is doing a terrible job just because they can’t stand his personality. It makes zero sense to me that so many have benefited because of the job he is doing yet he is undeservedly maligned at every point along the way. I really feel it’s a selfish, immature way of evaluating his job performance.
Don’t his haters and detractors want their sons, daughters, spouses, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, employees, employers and anyone else in their life to be successful as a result of the economic blessings President Trump has imparted with his vision of how things should be?
Why can’t they see that even though Obama was smooth, personable, a great articulator and easy to like, he was not getting the job done resulting in economic woes that were many and affected so many negatively? They should take heed from the gentleman at the grocery store and see the reality of what is best for him and all Americans!
As I think back on the movie Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid; I’m relating to the line “who are those guys?” I guess I’m doing that as I remember the good ole days of our Democrat friends whose thoughts leaned far more to the common sense side of things and a lot less to the side of bewildering bafflement. I mean really, as much as Obama drove me bat-crap-crazy with his liberal policy thinking and was actually the inspiration that got this rant started, the guy had a level head about certain things or at least articulated them in a way that didn’t cause me to question his sanity.
But these days, you’ve got to be kidding me, the stuff we hear from the candidates who want to be our next president is truly what? Maybe mind blowing, the popular phrase from the days when the Butch and Sundance movie was out? At the risk of coming close to name calling their ideas are idiotically insane!
Their campaign promises are beyond common sense and even have Barrack Obama warning them to watch where they’re going. No borders, no immigration requirements, universal healthcare that would include government run long-term health care, re-implementing business strangling taxes and regulations, come on!
Now I’m hearing some of them calling for federal funds to build houses and provide subsidies for renters. Sure, Dems in the past leaned towards these ideas, but nothing this close to nonsensical madness that would be the ruin of this nation. The fact that they don’t recognize any of the dangers these ideas pose is scary in and of itself. It lends itself to questioning if they have the intelligence level and wherewithal to be in that job.
Who knows maybe Michael Bloomberg will bring some common sense into the fray or will he cause the other candidates to go even further towards far left insanity in hopes they will capture the votes of low information, free stuff lovers?!
Wait; There’s Even Better Bewildering
The young liberals of our time are even more crazed than the adult Dems in the room, where did their confused crazy actions emanate from, it’s not from Dem friends of mine who disagree vehemently with me, but always show good manners and respect as the decent human beings they are.
It’s one thing to have strong opinions about matters and, of course, free speech is a matter of constitutional law, but the crap these young people pull is beyond decency (I haven’t seen the movie “Safe Places” but I’m hearing it frighteningly shows the extent these people will go to get their point across and shut down free speech).
Recently I saw a video where a young lady on a campus was holding a sign that read Black Lives Matter, a young man stood next to her with a sign reading All Lives’ Matter, the girl went berserk ripping it out his hands, tried to beat the guy and screamed uncontrollably at him.
We’ve seen the videos of students ganging up and beating a reporter just because he represented a conservative media outlet, attacking someone wearing a MAGA hat and violently insisting that conservative speakers have no right to speak on their campus.
Last week Ann Coulter was speaking at a Berkley event, student protesters formed a human chain physically refusing to allow students who wanted to attend the speech to get through. Last weekend students poured out of the stands at the Harvard vs. Yale football game interrupting the game as they planted their butts right in the middle of the field protesting Climate Change.
Please Tell Me:
I need one of those rude, misguided and often violent protestors to fill me in on exactly what they expect to accomplish by the crazed behavior they exhibit. What do they believe will result from their asinine actions, do they really think it will result in massive changes that will mold their ideas into reality? Is it their thinking that by resisting the freedoms our fore fathers set forth in the constitution or interrupting a sporting event that has absolutely nothing to do with the cause they’re so concerned with, they will capture the hearts and minds of all Americans?
Or is it they are snowflakes afraid of their own shadows that have grown up being sheltered from the realities of life and it has lead them to fight because of fear of losing the free comfort they’re so accustomed to. Like frightened children they lash out in fearful tantrums. I really don’t know, that’s why I need someone to enlighten me.
Quotes & Quips
“Where were all these whistleblowers when Obama loaded a plane with $150 Billion in cash to Iran in the dead of the night?” (Unknown)
*Don’t start dwelling on the hypocritical aspects of this impeachment farce, it will drive you up many walls. (Me)
“The American people see [the impeachment inquiry] for what it is. The Democrats have never accepted the fact that 63 million Americans voted for this guy and they want him to come here and shake it up. And he won an Electoral College landslide and they [Democrats] don’t care because they don’t trust the American people.” (Rep. Jim Jordan)
*The mistrust is mutual, the Dems in Washington aren’t worthy of our trust for numerous reasons. (Me)
“Joe Biden has been in office for 44 years. Chuck Schumer has been in office for 38 years. Nancy Pelosi has been in office for 32 years. Maxine Waters has been in office for 28 years. Yet… they blame all of America’s problems on a guy who’s been in office for 3 years.” (Ryan Fournia, Twitter)
*Yea a guy who in 3 years has done more for America than those Dems have done in a combined total of 98 years. Pathetic! (Me)
“Fundraising has exploded for the GOP, with the Republican National Committee reporting it hauled in $25.3 million during October and had $61.4 million in the hopper at month’s end. In contrast, the Democrat party machine brought in a mere $9 million. At the end of last month, the Democratic National Committee was $7 million in debt and had only $8.7 million in the kitty.” (Liz Peek, Fox News)
*What should that tell us? (Me)
“As more witnesses testify amid Trump’s diminished political clout, Republican senators who will ultimately decide his fate – and their own – should start to see that standing with him comes at a price.” (Mary Anne Marsh, Fox News)
*I think she’s confused, maybe she doesn’t know what her colleague (Liz Peek) at Fox News is reporting because if she did Mary Anne would realize where the price really lies. (Me)
Letters to the Ranter:
What fun it will be watching the same CNN and MSNBC panels of experts gradually embrace Michael Bloomberg, a billionaire businessman, as their new candidate of the people. The scripted Democrat debates were a disaster when the candidates started stating their ideas, and Bloomberg, a savvy rich guy, took notice. What on earth had he been funding? He mounted his donkey and rode to the rodeo. The barrage of programming highlighting Bloomberg in a positive light started last Monday with: MSNBC’s Velshi and Ruhle – field report showing Bloomberg support; MSNBC’s Trump hating Katy Tur’s in-studio supportive discussion; ABC’s The View; etc. The leftist media will trip over each other to now praise Michael Bloomberg with his self funding as a good prospect to beat Trump. What’s up, I will tell you what’s up, what’s aloft and irrelevant too. The force of gravity, this is where the Democrats are with no stability. The current house is up in the air, they would probably build their house in the sand, not stable on a rock. The House of Democrats will soon collapse; they need God and Jesus in their life. (Michael)
