No Rest For The Bewildered:
Last week as the Mrs. and I were flying over the fruited plains for five days with the grandkids in Indiana, I was drifting into a mellow like state to the point of losing my ranting vigor. Sure enough after arriving at our son and daughter-in-law’s house, shaking off the cold and becoming engulfed in little kid stuff, I really lost my appetite for the political messes that had been fueling the ranting energy.
Knowing I would be back at work later in the week than normal, along with my out-of-sight, out-of-mind, blissful state, I decided I would reach back into the archives and run a rant reprise, thus prolonging my blissful “I don’t give a rip attitude.” I figured after this week, I would jump back into impeachment, Russia Gate, the lame Democrat held House and of course the ever sky rocketing debt that no one seems to give a flip about, just to mention a few.
But nooo, right in the middle of our stay the president had to go and order the blowing up of that slime bag Iranian terrorist to smithereens! While I cheered the action I still was able to maintain my calm demeanor. That lasted until the kids went to bed and our son turned on CNN, I immediately went into bat-crap-crazy mode as I listened to the skewed left–talking heads go nuts over the horrible act the president initiated.
I Won’t Print The Word:
Back in my younger days we would lambast those with the dove like remarks we heard from the libs with a word I won’t go near, but needless to say it’s similar to the word WIMPY. These people were in such shock you would have thought we killed the pope or something. They seemed to be shaking in their shoes with fear because Trump’s action was a threat to their own safety.
One exclaimed “I can’t believe Trump had a head of state assassinated, we can’t just go around killing political figures we don’t like, the result is going to be horrifying!” Another lamented; “This is a massive, deliberate, and dangerous escalation of conflict with Iran. The President just put the lives of every person in the region – U.S. service members, civilians and even those here – at immediate risk.”
I mean really, after Soleimani was torched, these wimps were on the screen supporting Iran, who want all Americans DEAD, defending the country even though they kill homosexuals and transgenders and violate all kinds of human rights of their people, the very rights the Libs supposedly hold sacred. You can’t tell me their hate for Trump doesn’t supersede their beliefs of fairness for all.
He’s An Opposite Magnet:
It’s almost like Trump tricked the entire left wing media into defending a cowardly mass terrorist. It seems as though the president has a knack for turning cloudy thinking Dems into the Keystone Cops as they rush to any opposite direction he points. How else does one explain them defending Soleimani who was a murderer, responsible for the deaths of thousands, including hundreds of Americans?
Why, when Obama oversaw the killing of Osama Bin Laden they didn’t assert that it was a “reckless move that would escalate the likelihood of more deaths and a new Middle East conflict?” They didn’t because that president could do no wrong in their eyes. He could assassinate a terrorist or send pallets of cash to Iran to enable Soleimani to spread terror and it was all the same to them because it was their messiah who was doing it. I betcha if they had their way we would be sending a boat load of cash to Iran as a way of a big apology, it’s all so pathetic.
You Gotta Love It:
Just heard the president as he addressed the nation and in my humble opinion he nailed it. No doubting his presidential acumen on this one, he laid things out in a clear and concise manner, leaving no doubt as to what the consequences will be for Iran if they continue their evil ways. At the same time he made clear there is room for the two sides to come together in some manner. Most importantly he re-stated his resolve that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances and we can be sure it won’t be as a result of a cash quid pro quo! Hopefully even Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden realize that dog don’t hunt.
To be sure even after the justification for taking out Soleimani, the failed bomb attempts that followed and President Trump’s national address there are plenty of doubters left. Perhaps they don’t recall, aren’t aware or don’t care, but these boys have been bad and a pain in our butt for a long time. 52 hostages were held for 444 days at our embassy in the seventies. In 1988 they placed mines in the Persian Gulf that struck a navy vessel, injuring 10 sailors. In 2016 they seized two of our naval vessels along with 10 U.S. sailors.
This past year alone Iran attacked oil tankers, shot down a US drone, attacked US military bases in Iraq and stormed the US Embassy.
So what are we supposed to do, placate them like Great Britain did with Hitler early on, like Obama did with Iran during his time in office? Do we want to be wimps, reacting from behind after another terrorist attack, or do we take heed of Toby Keith’s song “Courtesy of the Red White and Blue” with “This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage, you’ll be sorry that you messed with the US of A ‘cause we’ll put a boot in your ass, it’s the American way.”
If you ask me, it’s high time to keep our boot firmly planted where it’s most uncomfortable for them and if they try to squirm away we take care of the rest of the body before, NOT after, it’s too late!
I came across this “letter to the editor” in a newspaper somewhere I’m not aware of:
I got on an airplane last week with other passengers. As I watched the pilot go into the cockpit and lock the door, I realized I didn’t know anything about him, was he the best pilot the airline had or was he the worst pilot in the nation?
That began to concern me. If I had met the pilot, I might not have been happy with him being in charge. What if I really didn’t like this pilot? What if he had character flaws? What if he almost got kicked out of pilot’s school? I did not choose him, he wasn’t my choice, and somebody else chose him for this flight, not me. But he was the pilot.
Still, we were going to fly together. So one thing was certain, I did not want him to fail. If he failed—we all failed. I read the emergency card and I was alert for any trouble, but I hoped for the best. Maybe he wasn’t the worst pilot, or maybe he was. But that didn’t matter, I wanted him to succeed, I didn’t want him to fail.
I think a lot of us need to remember that about our presidents, it is sad that some people want a president to fail. Although I didn’t want Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump to be president, I definitely did not want them to fail. Whoever is president, we should hope for the best.
There are no winners in a plane crash and no winners in a divided nation.
