| Entertainment | October 31, 2019

This is such a perfect match — Naked Eyes, the iconic 80s new wave band (“Promises, Promises”), paired with Asher Knight’s retro sound. Knight will be the opening act for Naked Eyes at The Rose in Pasadena on November 9th. Doors open at 6pm, Knight will go on at 7:15pm. This will be a night to remember, sparking passion in the fans of both artists to a colorful night of live music. Both Naked Eyes and Asher Knight are from the UK, and their music is shockingly similar. Knight’s music has been compared to the Alan Parson’s Project.

Knight just returned from opening for the British sensation Will Young, at more then 20 music venues in the UK, and now he is prepared to WOW his American audiences at this new show. In addition, on November 13th, he will be given an award and will be performing at the Producers Choice Honors Awards in Las Vegas. Leading up to the Awards he will also be on a local Las Vegas morning news show and featured in a local Las Vegas newspaper.

Knight’s newly released EP, Step Back, consists of four terrific songs: “Step Back,” co-written by Mark Owen from the band Take That, as well as George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse; “The Night Belongs To You,” co-written by The Voice UK judge, Olly Murrs, George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse; “Save Me from Myself,” co-written by Jon Maguire and Jon Lilygreen; and “Letting Go,” written by Jamie Sellers.

What is your process in songwriting?
I start by experiencing life and reflecting on things I have gone through. I normally write them down and send them to producers and songwriters. It’s a collaboration of all different people that helps create a great song.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I never intended to pursue music, I studying performing arts at school and my teacher in a class gave no option but to sing, so I got up and sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, from that moment on, I only wanted to sing.

What message do your songs convey?
Every song conveys different messages but all of them relate to the way I feel and things I have experienced from heartbreak to happiness. My single “Step Back” has a reflective message about appreciating the positive people you have in your life.

Heartthrob Asher Knight is guaranteed to excite all of his fans. His melodic lyrics are filled with deeply inspired emotions, packing his listeners with love and hope. Knight paints pictures of romance that are way ahead of this 21-year-old singer/songwriter experiences.

He has defied all of the odds, bringing his past teenage suffering of being bullied into his very relatable music. Now, he is turning it all around and speaking out about anti-bullying at schools and colleges, letting his young fans know that they are not alone. Asher has aligned with many anti-bullying charities in the UK, such as Believe in Children Barnado’s, Bullying UK, NSPCC, Samaritans and Kidscape.

It’s about time America discovers Asher Knight’s new phenomenal blend of real music. Strong, striking, he is a force of nature, spreading his message through his music, his way.
