The eighth annual Sierra Pelona Valley Wine Festival will take place on April 4, 2020 at Reyes Winery, 10262 Sierra Highway, Santa Clarita. The event will showcase nearly 175 wines from over 35 local wineries, brews, cider and spirits, as well as live music and food from more than 20 fine dining restaurants, gourmet food companies and local artists from Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley. There will also be a live auction and an opportunity raffle to help raise money.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit the local chapter of Zonta International. One hundred years ago, a small group of pioneering women came together in Buffalo, New York with a vision to help all women realize greater equality while using their individual and collective expertise in service to their community. Their vision became Zonta International, an organization that has grown to more than 29,000 members in 63 countries, working together to make gender equality a reality for women and girls worldwide.
The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley brings these elements of service, advocacy and awareness of our international mission to life in ways that directly serve the Santa Clarita community. They provide hands-on service delivery while funding the work, dreams and goals of others to improve the lives of women. SCV Zonta offers several scholarships and community grants to women and girls in the Santa Clarita Valley. They also have many service projects like girls robotics at the Boys and Girls Club and LifeForward, a monthly workshop that gives awareness and life-building skills to women.
