Fresh Perspectives at SCAA Gallery

| Entertainment | December 27, 2018

Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA) is hosting a grand re-opening on January 11, 2019 with a reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 22508 6th St. Old Town Newhall.

The exhibit, entitled Fresh Perspectives, runs until Feb. 24 and showcases the artists and their latest artwork. The reception is free to the public, and wine and appetizers will be served.

“The SCAA Gallery is updating its look. It will have a more contemporary and functional interior for displaying all the beautiful art work which members create. Please come see our fresh new look when we reopen in January for our artists’ reception,” said Co-Chair Mardi Georgio. The event will feature the following artists:

• Laurie Finkelstein – “My landscapes showcase atmospheric subtleties in non-traditional perspectives on small canvases. Her art is titled, Mini Pink Sky.”

• Mardi Georgio – “Winter Sunrise is a pastel landscape of the freshly fallen snow that fell in the night and is being colored by the rising sun.”

• Lynda Frautnik – “My current media is alcohol ink. I love its vibrant colors and its unpredictable nature. This painting is entitled Spring Magnified.”

In addition, SCAA art exhibits can be viewed monthly at the Canyon Theatre Guild, Samuel Dixon Healthcare, and annually at Le Chene, Hart Park, Newhall Library, City Hall First Floor Gallery, throughout the Hyatt Regency Valencia, arts and craft boutiques, and other venues around Santa Clarita.

Gallery winter hours are: Fridays from 5-8 p.m., Saturdays from 2-8 p.m., and Sundays from 11-5 p.m.

For community outreach, the SCAA provides monthly art demos and workshops and several of our members teach privately and at local schools. For updated details, visit www.santaclaritaartists.org/.
