Our 2013 Sangiovese won Silver and received 88 points from the 2016 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition and a Bronze from the 2016 Los Angeles International Wine Competition. This amazing California Sangiovese has aromas of plum and tea. On the palate you will get plum, anise, and earl grey tea. It has a smooth finish. Enjoy this wine with spaghetti and marinara sauce, parmesan cheese or grilled plums with chevre. We now have fewer than three cases of this special wine, brining it out only this weekend for everyone to enjoy before it is gone.
Then, Reyes Winery will very soon release a new wine, which is our 2016 Sangiovese. Our Sangiovese is made from a specific vineyard selected by our winemaker, Robert Reyes, to create a wine that captures the heart of the 2016 vintage. On the nose there is an aromatic profile of black currant and plum that continue on the palate with balanced acidity. Enjoy this wine with aged Pecorino cheese, a panzanella salad and cherries poached in red wine with mascarpone cream. Stay tuned for the date, but this Saturday I will be previewing it on Saturday.
I also will be previewing our 2014 Quinn’s Zin. The intense aromas of our 2014 old vine Zinfandel have notes of blackberry jam, bing cherries, black pepper and spice. Ruby in color, this full-bodied wine finishes with soft, velvety tannins. Our locally sourced zinfandel is layered with complex flavors which pairs beautifully with grilled salmon, asiago cheese or a blackberry charlotte.
