The Michael Hoefflin Foundation for children’s cancer is a public non-profit foundation that provides financial and emotional support to children and their families in Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys. The organization strives to educate the public and provide grant funding for innovative research to accelerate progress in the fight against pediatric cancer.
The organization was founded by Chris and Sue Hoefflin of Canyon Country, along with their son, Michael, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 10. For two decades the organization has been providing cancer victims and their families emotional support and financial assistance for needs from gasoline to groceries. Counseling, educational resources and family entertainment are also some of the services for clients of the foundation.
Although the Michael Hoefflin Foundation focuses on fundraising efforts throughout the year, the success of the non-profit’s upcoming gala, “An Evening Under the Stars,” is the most critical in raising funds to help drive the foundation’s mission to provide support to children and their families facing the emotional and financial difficulties of pediatric cancer. The event will be held on Saturday, September 13 at Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Canyon Country. Guests will gather on the 18th hole for a dinner, auction, silent auction, and an aerial acrobatic performance by Bella Circo.
Event co-chairs this year are Brenda Neilson from the Bank of Santa Clarita and Dan Sterkel of Nissan of Valencia. To purchase tickets or get more details about the event, visit www.mhf.org.
