The Grace of State

| Opinion | May 14, 2020

“Grace is the Hebrew word chanan or the Greek word charis, meaning “the state of kindness and favor toward someone, often with a focus on a benefit given to the object.” (Strong’s Greek 5485).” – Christianity.com
Some might call it central to the construct of divine forgiveness.  It might be viewed as a state of existence provided to us by our Creator simply because that is the Creator’s nature. Grace does not require any action; it simply is.

Living in grace or sharing grace is a worthy goal. Though not conditional, it is a feature of most Christian philosophy.

We have an ex-president, who with disdain had this to say about Midwest Christians: “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion.” President Obama rejected grace when he said on a web conversation with members of the Obama Alumni Association.

According to Yahoo News:
“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn, and the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury  just getting off scot-free. That is the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places.” -President Barack Obama.

Notice that Michael Flynn was not charged with perjury. A charge is not a conviction. He was coerced into pleading guilty to lying to the FBI, despite the FBI previously dropping the case because they found him to be truthful. Flynn has lost everything – his home, his savings, and his reputation. Hardly an example of “scot-free.”

Advertisment

The ex-president, like so many other members of the deep state and leftist politicians, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, have demonstrated no grace and have continued to blame the innocent in a apparent effort to cover their rear ends.

The newly released evidence indicates that President Obama knew about and perhaps initiated the frauds committed by “Deep State” FBI and Democrat politicians in a effort to destroy the Trump campaign and later to overturn an election. The FBI lied and used unverified evidence in the courts. Adam Schiff questioned Obama insiders privately under oath. They all swore they had no evidence for Russia, Russia, Russia, while publicly claiming the opposite. Schiff repeatedly lied. No collusion was found. Flynn was set up. Threatened with prosecution of his son, and worn down, he pled guilty of lying when the FBI knew he was not. No court will likely be able to make him whole again.

I am sorry if you are a Trump-hating Democrat. You are entitled in America to your opinion. We are witnessing a great tyranny and crimes perpetrated by those you support. It is they who have violated their oath of office. It is they who are acting like fascists. We are in a civil war, and I fear if all Americans do not begin showing some grace, that hatred of Trump will consume us and destroy our nation. I sometimes fear that is the goal.

Our founders understood that power corrupts. Our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence were designed to protect us from corruption and power grabs. Trumps honoring of federalism during the coronavirus demonstrates his respect for our founding documents. The power grabs we are observing by blue state leadership do not. Charges are not proof or evidence. Think hard next time you vote.

Blessings.

One Response to “The Grace of State”

  1. So is carrying guns into State Capitol buildings and trying to force your way onto the capitol floor while its in session an exercise in peaceably assembling and petitioning for a redress of grievances? Is driving through a crowd and killing a young woman a Christian act.
I don’t think you get to define Christianity for anyone other than yourself, if you can even do that. Quoting Hebrew does not make you a Christian scholar.
Perhaps you should look a little closer at that reality tv star and trust fund baby in the White House.
