Athletes of the Week

| Sports | January 10, 2019

Jesse Corralejo attended Valencia High school and has been in Special Olympics since he was in his teens. He competes in soccer, basketball, softball, and floor hockey.

Soccer is his favorite sport because he likes to run, and his position is forward. Forwards are the players who play nearest to the opposing team’s goal, and are most responsible for scoring goals.

“My teammates are my friends. We have fun and we work hard,” Jesse said.

During the week Jesse works in a local day program.

Jason Carreon began his involvement in Special Olympics when he was in high school. He plays softball, floor hockey, and basketball on the Makos team.

Jason had this to say about his coaches: “They are really nice to me and they teach me the sports. My teams are like my family.”

His motto is, “Do the best you can.”

Jason works at a local restaurant and at local business.
