A sophomore at Saugus High School and guard on the boys’ basketball team, Adrian McIntyre scored 26 points as the Centurions beat Thousand Oaks High School in the SFV Invitational consolation bracket. Saugus finished the tournament in ninth place, and McIntyre was selected to the all-tournament first team.
“Adrian McIntyre in nine games is averaging 25 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals per game,” said Saugus High School boys’ basketball coach Alfredo Manzano. “He’s become the team’s vocal leader and has earned all his teammates’ votes for one of the three captains this year as a sophomore. Adrian is a humble kid who doesn’t let the spotlight get to him; in fact, it makes him want to work harder. He opened the season with a 46-point game against Heritage Christian at their place.”
